Septic Engineering Services Provided In Addition To Septic Installation For Many New Build Properties

Down to Earth Construction Services know that a property does not need to be way out in the county side to need to have a septic system. Before I moved into a home with a septic system I had certainly always just assumed that if a property was in a town or city it would be on town sewer. However I lived in two homes in the city of Attleboro MA both of which were certainly not in the countryside and both of which had septic systems because they were not on town sewer. I discovered that this was not unusual and certainly not the daunting prospect it first seemed when my realtor mentioned it. Increasingly as more and more property is built in New England the number that do not have access to town sewer is rising. Therefore the number of septic installations for new properties is also increasing. Down to Earth Construction Services certainly carry out many septic system installations in the region each year and the number is steadily growing. We also provide the septic engineering which is required before an installation can take place including septic design, soil testing and perc tests. An essential part of a septic system is the leach field and the soil in the leach area needs to be sufficiently permeable so that it can readily absorb the liquid effluent flowing into it. A site must also not have soil that is too permeable, allowing the effluent to reach the groundwater before it is fully treated. Very steep slopes are also unsuitable for a conventional leach field. Also, there must be at least a few feet of good soil from the bottom of the leach pipes to the rock or impervious hardpan below, or to the water table. The perc test provides the data to determine the suitability of a site for a septic system. In general, soils with high sand and gravel content drain the best and soils with a high clay content or solid rock are the worst. Most soils fall somewhere in the middle with a mix of course sand and gravel particles, small silt particles and tiny clay particles. Today we are conducting a perc test for a customer in Attleboro MA who is considering a building plot and needs to know its suitability for a septic system before proceeding. Even if a conventional septic system is not possible, depending on the perc test results, at Down to Earth Construction Services we have experience with alternative septic systems when it seems that a conventional system may not work. We are also providing septic engineering services to customers today in Norton, Seekonk, Rehoboth and Freetown MA. Septic System Installation in Attleboro MA

Down to Earth Construction Services has a septic system installation starting today in Attleboro MA. We were contacted by a property owner who had recently inherited an older property with a failing cesspool which was processing the home’s wastewater. To enable them to easily and quickly sell the property for a good price they decided that it would be advantageous to replace the cesspool for a new, efficient septic system. A cesspool is a pit which acts as both a settling chamber for solids and a leaching system for liquids. A conventional septic system has a tank where solids can settle and begin to degrade, a distribution box, and a soil absorption system (SAS) that further treats the effluent by removing some of the bacteria, viruses, phosphorus, and nitrogen. We have the equipment and expertise to replace a cesspool with a septic system without having to rely upon subcontractors for equipment or operators. We can therefore ensure that all of the work is done to our own high standards. If you require a septic system installation, need to replace a cesspool or if you have any questions about septic systems or cesspools please do contact our Norton Office on 508-622-5759 or visit http://www.downtoearthconst.com where we would be happy to help you.

Safety Meeting to Ensure Our Septic Technicians and Customers are Safe

Down to Earth Construction Services had its monthly safety meeting today. The safety of our employees and customers is of the utmost importance to us so we ensure that we stay ahead of safety training, safety procedures and that our equipment is safe and our employees know how to use it correctly. Even though it is raining today part of our safety commitment is ensuring that our staff are safe whatever the weather so today our meeting covered heat stress and sun exposure training to ensure that our staff know how to work safely when the sun does show itself. We also focused on trailer safety for open, closed and equipment trailers including correct loading, tie down and visual inspections. This is very important because especially when we are doing excavation with large equipment or a septic installation with the necessary machines and equipment we need to be certain that it is moved safety to the site and also used correctly and safely. We have recently completed septic system installations in Bridgewater, Wayland, Clinton and Southborough. If you need septic services or have any questions about septic systems or the services we provide please do contact our Norton Office on 508-622-5759 or visit http://www.downtoearthconst.com

Septic Designs and Septic Installation Work Even In Winter

Down to Earth Construction Services know that with snow on the ground from previous storms and more expected this weekend many property owners are not considering extensive construction work. Who can excavate in frozen ground and the resulting slush and mud? While it is true that we will not be able to do a septic system installation when the ground is frozen solid what we can do is all of the background paperwork that is required in addition to the physical work. When a property owner requires a septic system installation we can provide the septic designs working with our customer to design a septic system that works for their specific needs and those of their property, budget and the environment. We have extensive experience in this region so we know each individual town’s septic requirements and the state regulations so we can ensure that your septic system will be correct and there will not be delays caused by paperwork problems once work has started. We have recently provided septic designs and septic system installations to customers in Canton, Marlborough, Wrentham and Wayland MA. If you would be interested in a septic designs, septic installation or have any questions about septic systems please do contact our office on 508-622-5759 or visit www.downtoearthconst.com

Septic Work Including Inspections, Excavation, Repairs, Installations and Maintenance

Down to Earth Construction Services not only does the heavy construction and excavation associated with the installation of septic systems but also provides continued maintenance, repair and inspection of septic systems. Today we have Title 5 septic inspections scheduled in Seekonk, Rehoboth, Plainville, Attleboro and Wrentham MA. As stated on the Mas Gov website:

“The inspection includes determining the location and condition of cesspools, septic tanks and distribution boxes. Often, this will not require extensive excavation.” For more information see https://www.mass.gov/guides/buying-or-selling-property-with-a-septic-system

Therefore as stated it is not often that we are required to excavate to carry out a septic inspection but if, for any reason, that is necessary we do have the equipment, operators and skills to do so without having to wait, and pay for, for an outside contractor. You can also be confident that we will carry out the work to our own high standards because we do all of the work, even if extensive excavation is required. Perc Test Provided to A Customer in Norton To Evaluate The Rate At Which Water Drains Through Their Soil

Down to Earth Construction Services offer so much more than septic ‘construction’. While we certainly use our experience in this area to provide excavation, septic installation and extensive repairs to septic systems we also have the skills and knowledge for septic engineering tasks such as providing septic designs, soil evaluations, construction layouts and perc tests. Today we have a perc test, or percolation test, for a customer in Norton MA. A perc test evaluates the rate at which water drains through soil. This is extremely important to know before you install a septic system because you need to know the level of liquid absorption into the soil in order to design the system which includes the leach field or drain field, where wastewater percolates back into the soil after the solids have settled into the septic tank. The typical size of a drain field is determined by the expected volume of wastewater to be discharged from the septic system (which is usually estimated based on the size of the proposed building) and of course the speed at which the liquid can drain which is determined by the perc test is essential information. The perc test is conducted by drilling or digging a hole in the ground, pouring water into the hole and then observing the rate at which the water is absorbed into the soil. We have provided other septic engineering services to customers throughout the region including recently in Swansea, Southborough and Bolton MA. If you require septic engineering services or if you have any questions regarding your septic system please do contact our Norton Office on 508-622-5759 or visit www.downtoearthconst.com
