Down to Earth Construction Services Wishes Everyone A Happy Thanksgiving

Down to Earth Construction Services wishes everyone a Happy Thanksgiving for tomorrow. We know our customers are also looking forward to Thanksgiving and food preparation is well underway for Thanksgiving Meals. We would like to remind our customers that it is not a good idea to put any type of cooking oil, fat or grease down the sink where it can enter your septic system. Whilst a well maintained septic system can cope with small amounts of fat, oil and grease, such as natural body oils that go into your septic system when you shower, if you regularly introduce cooking fats, oils and grease into your septic system it could result in a septic system failure if left . Just remember when you are making your beautifully juicy turkey dinner do not pour the fat, oil or grease down your sink. We have been conducting Septic Repairs in Stoughton, Bridgewater, Middleboro, Carver, Taunton and Norton MA that could have been easily avoided with a little knowledge and preventative measures. If you have a question about your septic system or you need to schedule a septic repair please contact us on 508-622-5759 or visit www.downtoearthconst.com

Being Careful Of What You Introduce To Your Septic System May Help You Avoid Some Costly Septic System Repairs

Down to Earth Construction Services have septic system repairs including septic pump repairs and drainfield repairs scheduled today in Berkley, Rehoboth, Raynham, Norton, Taunton and Attleboro MA.. Our technicians can quickly diagnose your septic problem and repair your septic system because we have the experience and tools to recognise and fix many different problems. We can also suggest courses of action that may prevent these repairs from being necessary again in the future. If a septic system is not used correctly you may find that repairs will be necessary and sometimes septic system failures can happen. Often some simple changes can avoid this. Property owners need to be aware of all the liquids and solids that are introduced into their septic system. Some of these are obviously not a good idea including clothing, toys, diapers and household objects such as scouring pads. However some may be slightly less obvious including oils, fats and grease, ‘flushable’ wipes, sanitary items and some cleaning products. Be careful of what you introduce to your septic system and you may avoid some costly septic system repairs but if you do need a septic system repair appointment please do contact our Norton office on 508-622-5759 or visit www.downtoearthconst.com. It is always inadvisable to wait to have a septic problem looked at and we can schedule appointments on short notice.

Experienced Diagnosing Septic System Problems and Repairing Them

Down to Earth Construction Services is experienced diagnosing problems and repairing septic systems and leach fields/ drainfields. We have been called in for a leach field repair in Acushnet MA which has been caused by irregular pumping of the septic system. A septic tank should be pumped every 3 – 5 years depending on various factors including water usage and tank size. If the tank fills up with an excess of solids, the wastewater will not have enough time to settle in the tank. These excess solids will then pass on to the leach field, where they will clog the drain lines and soil. The property owner called us concerned because they had liquid puddling on their leach field and sewage smells coming from the drainfield.

We also have other septic repairs today in Middleboro, Taunton, Freetown, Lakeville and East Bridgewater MA.

If you are concerned that you may need a septic system repair, leach field or drainfield repair, septic pump repair or d-box repair please do contact our Norton office to discuss your concerns and to make an appointment if necessary on 508-622-5759 or visit www.downtoearthconst.com

Cesspool Services and Replacement in Massachusetts Today

Down to Earth Down to Earth Construction Services has cesspool services and a cesspool replacement scheduled today in Stoughton, Bridgewater, Canton, Taunton, Berkley and Carver, MA.  As written on the Massachusetts Official Website of the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs:

“A cesspool is a pit which acts as both a settling chamber for solids and a leaching system for liquids. The use of cesspools may overload the capacity of the soil to remove bacteria, viruses, and phosphorus, and to nitrify ammonia and organic nitrogen compounds. A conventional septic system has a tank where solids can settle and begin to degrade, a distribution box, and a soil absorption system (SAS) that further treats the effluent by removing some of the bacteria, viruses, phosphorus, and nitrogen.”

To sell a property you need a Title 5 Inspection to be done. Title 5 does not require that cesspools be replaced however as stated on the Massachusetts Official Website of the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs:

“cesspools that exhibit signs of hydraulic failure, are located extremely close to private or public water supplies, or otherwise fail to protect or pose a threat to public health, safety or the environment will need to be upgraded (310 CMR 15.303). Also, cesspools must be upgraded prior to an increase in design flow (e.g., the addition of a bedroom to a home or seats to a restaurant”.
We are replacing a cesspool for a customer because it has hydraulic failure. If you are concerned that your cesspool needs replacing or you require a cesspool service please do contact our office at 508-622-5759 or visit www.downtoearthconst.com
