Leach Field Repair by Down to Earth Construction

Down to Earth Down to Earth Construction Services has septic repairs including a leach field repair in Attleboro, Norton, Rehoboth, Seekonk, Fall River, Dighton, and Berkley, MA.  If you are seeing excessive growth on your leach field in comparison to the rest of your lawn, or it is very green compared to other parts of your yard, this may indicate you have a leach field problem.  Puddling or sewage smells on the leach field may also indicate a problem.  Leach field repairs can be caused by many different things but there are a few things that you can do to avoid problems such as:

  • Don’t drive on or park on your leach field
  • Don’t plant trees or large shrubs on your leach field
  • Direct water from your roof or land away from your leach field
  • Do plant grass and plants with shallow roots on your leach field

If you have concerns that your leach field or septic system are not operating correctly, or if you have any questions, please do contact our office at 508-622-5759 or visit www.downtoearthconst.com

Down to Earth Down to Earth Construction Services hopes all mothers had a superb Mother’s Day yesterday.  While flowers are perhaps a more traditional gift, sometimes we understand that you have to be a bit more practical. Down to Earth Construction Services have septic repairs scheduled today for customers in Fall River, Swansea, Mattapoisett, Freetown, Marion, Acushnet, and Norton, MA.  If you have noticed that you have an unpleasant smell coming from your drains or even worse have sewage backup coming into your house, these are both signs that you may have a septic system problem.  It is inadvisable to wait to have these problems addressed.  Firstly, it is unpleasant and can actually be harmful if left, but also a small problem can become a larger one if left untreated and potentially be more expensive to fix.  We have experience with many septic system repairs and today they include a d-box replacement and outlet tee and a septic air pump repair.  If you need to schedule a septic repair or if you have any questions please do contact our office at 508-622-5759 or visit www.downtoearthconst.com

Experts in Septic Design, Installation and Inspection

Down to Earth Down to Earth Construction Services had a septic system installation in Rochester, MA starting yesterday.  Our client  initially needed a septic design for a septic system because they needed to replace a failing cesspool on their property.  We have the experience and knowledge to provide a septic design that was tailored to their individual needs and those of their property. Yesterday we started the septic system installation because our client chose to continue to use our services. They are confident in our professionalism and ability to install their system quickly and correctly with minimum disruption.  We have the equipment and operators for the excavation,  groundworks and total installation without needing to use a subcontractor so we can ensure that the installation is done to our exacting standards. We will also provide regular septic system services following the installation. We have recent experience with septic system installations in Oxford, Uxbridge, Marlborough, and Mattapoisett, MA.  If you need a septic system installation or if you have any questions please do contact us.

Down to Earth Construction Services also have septic inspections scheduled today in Berkley, Dighton, Norton, Freetown, Fall River, Fairhaven, Acushnet, and Mattapoisett, MA.  Most of the septic inspections that we do are for properties which are being sold.  However, we also have an inspection today for a property which has had an addition which included two bedrooms.  As specified by The Official Website of the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs of Massachusetts:

“A system must be inspected upon any change of use or increase in design flow, BUT ONLY IF the change or expansion also requires a building permit or occupancy permit from the local building inspector. Examples include adding a bedroom to a house, adding seats to a restaurant, or changing the type of business operating at a commercial location. Check with the Building Department and/or Board of Health to find out if your situation requires a building or occupancy permit which will trigger a system inspection.

Any change in the footprint of a building also requires an inspection to determine the location of the system, to ensure that construction will not be located on top of any system components or on the reserve area. If official records are available to determine the location of the system components, this requirement may be waived. Check with your local Board of Health.
If you need to schedule a septic inspection or if you have any questions about septic inspections please do contact our office at 508-622-5759 or visit www.downtoearthconst.com

Title 5 Septic Inspections

Down to Earth Down to Earth Construction Services have Title 5 Septic Inspections scheduled today in Swansea, Seekonk, Fall River, Marion, Mattapoisett, Acushnet, Dighton and Taunton, MA.  If you are selling a property with a septic system you are likely to need a septic inspection before you can transfer property title . However at this time of year if weather conditions prevent an inspection before a sale, Title 5 allows the inspection to be done up to six months afterwards, provided that the seller notifies the buyer in writing of the need to complete the inspection.  For more information see the Official Website of the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs.

For this reason Down to Earth Construction Services would recommend if you are selling a property that is not on town sewer and has a septic system that you do the inspection at the start of your sale process.  Inspections required in connection with a property transfer generally are good for two years.  If a property is sold more than once in the two-year period, the single inspection is valid for all transfers.  When a system is pumped on an annual basis and the pumping records are available, an inspection is valid for three years.  Therefore, you are unlikely to need to redo the inspection if you have it done early and having the inspection done early could prevent any delays later on caused by unexpected events such as a snowstorm, which are always possible in Massachusetts in the winter.  If you need to schedule a Title 5 Septic Inspection or have any questions please do contact our office at 508-622-5759 or visit www.downtoearthconst.com
