Septic Engineering Appointments Including A PERC Test in North Attleboro

Down to Earth Construction Services has qualified engineers working for us who can assist with your septic engineering needs. Today we have septic engineering appointments which include soil evaluations, septic designs, land use planning, and construction layouts for large commercial developments and private homes in North Attleboro, Wrentham, Plainville, Bellingham and Franklin MA. The soil evaluation or PERC test (percolation) that we have scheduled in North Attleboro is a soil test that is performed before installing a new septic system. The perc test is extremely important because it measures the level of liquid absorption of the soil where the proposed septic system will be located. This is necessary because after partially treated wastewater leaves the septic tank, it flows into a distribution box, which separates this flow evenly into a network of drainfield trenches. Drainage holes at the bottom of each line allow the wastewater to drain into gravel trenches for temporary storage. This effluent then slowly seeps into the subsurface soil where it is further treated and purified (secondary treatment). The PERC test provides the information to ensure that this process happens correctly for a newly installed septic system. Septic Engineering Services To Assist Customers With Their Septic System Requirements

Down to Earth Construction Services have trained septic experts who can assist property owners with their septic engineering requirements. We can assist with services to improve or repair your property such as soil evaluations, septic design and land use planning, septic improvements such as installation of risers, covers or filters and construction layouts for large or small commercial developments. Today we are conducting a soil evaluation for a customer in Plainville MA. The soil evaluation will determine if the client’s building site is suitable for a conventional septic system and is typically called a “perc test’ or “perk test” (a percolation test). Traditional septic systems only work if the soil in the leach area is sufficiently permeable that it can readily absorb the liquid effluent flowing into it. Also, there must be at least a few feet of good soil from the bottom of the leach pipes to the rock or impervious hardpan below, or to the water table. Less commonly, a site can fail because the soil is too permeable, allowing the effluent to reach the groundwater before it is fully treated. Very steep slopes are also unsuitable for a conventional leach field. The specific standards vary from town to town, but any of these characteristics can prohibit the use of a standard gravity-fed septic system. Down to Earth Construction Services have extensive experience with various types of septic system so there are always alternative systems that can be used if the perc test does show some unfavourable results for a conventional system. We also have extensive experience with towns in this region so we know the individual requirements for different towns. We have other septic engineering appointments today in Norton, Rehoboth, Raynham, North Attleboro and Dighton MA.
