Down to Earth Construction Services have septic inspections scheduled today in Plainville, Attleboro, Bellingham, Mansfield and Wrentham MA. The majority of our inspections are done on behalf of a client who are selling their property and are required to have an inspection done on their septic system. However we also provide septic assessments when a property is not being sold. Your Voluntary Assessment will include all of the same steps as a septic inspection however the 17-page document will NOT be sent to your local approving authority – it is for your information only. A Voluntary Assessment is a great way to find out more about your own septic system. Down to Earth Construction Services highly recommends this to our clients as a means of properly maintaining, upgrading and repairing your system to prolong its life. Today we are carrying out a Voluntary Septic Assessment for a customer in Norton MA who wants to know the condition of a septic system of a family home that had been vacant and has only recently been occupied. Ask us about additional services we can provide to ensure the proper working of your septic system and if you wish to schedule an inspection or voluntary septic assessment or if you have any questions please do contact our Norton Office on 508-622-5759 or visit http://downtoearthconst.com/septic-services/

Down to Earth Construction Services hopes that everyone who is taking part in the Black Friday sales is coming home with a few bargains and no buyers remorse. Sometimes a ‘bargain’ on the shelf turns out to be a mistake if it is either not as cheap as it originally seemed or not the quality product that it first seemed on closer inspection. This can also be true for septic services and why it is always sensible to research the septic company that you choose to use. Down to Earth Construction Services has been working in the septic industry for over a decade in this region and has an excellent reputation for providing quality septic services. We take pride in the work that we do and ensure that all of our technicians are trained with up to date methods and have state of the art equipment. Even with a seemingly simple task as septic pumping it is always a good idea to check the company that you choose to use because keeping your septic system clean and healthy is the best way to avoid costly repairs to your septic system, be it a septic tank, cesspool or some other style system. Down to Earth Construction Services helps to ensure your system remains as healthy as possible through periodic pumping and system checks. Our professionally trained staff are there to identify potential issues before they become big problems. To prevent problems, we ensure the solids in your system are cleared out and remain at a level consistent with a healthy system. We also check and clear filters, if one is present, to be sure it doesn’t let any solids into the soil absorption system. The health of the system can also be improved through addition of septic system bacteria products to your system by our professional staff. These bacteria help break down the organic solids in your tank which reduces buildup over time, reduces odors and keeps your pipes clean. If you need to have your septic tank pumped or if you have any questions about septic pumping, septic systems or the other septic services we provide please do contact our Norton office on 508-622-5759 or visit http://downtoearthconst.com/septic-services/
Down to Earth Construction Services are all looking forward to Thanksgiving and the great food and time with our family and friends that goes alongside this holiday. We know our customers are also looking forward to Thanksgiving and food preparation is well underway for Thanksgiving Meals. We would like to remind our customers that it is not a good idea to put any type of cooking oil, fat or grease down the sink where it can enter your septic system. Whilst a well maintained septic system can cope with small amounts of fat, oil and grease, such as natural body oils that go into your septic system when you shower, if you regularly introduce cooking fats, oils and grease into your septic system it could result in a septic system failure if left. Just remember when you are making your beautifully juicy turkey dinner do not pour the fat, oil or grease down your sink. We have been conducting septic repairs in Bridgewater, Raynham, Stoughton, Sharon and Canton MA that could have been easily avoided with a little knowledge and preventative measures. If you have a question about your septic system or you need to schedule a septic repair please contact us on 508-622-5759 or visit http://downtoearthconst.com/septic-services/

Down to Earth Construction Services have experienced engineers who can provide you with a septic system design for your commercial or residential property. While all systems are individually designed for each site, most systems are based on the same principles. A conventional septic system consists of a septic tank, a distribution box and a drainfield, all connected by pipes, called conveyance lines. Your septic system treats your household or business wastewater by temporarily holding it in the septic tank where heavy solids and lighter scum are allowed to separate from the wastewater. This separation process is known as primary treatment. The solids stored in the tank are decomposed by bacteria and later removed, along with the lighter scum, by a professional septic tank pumper. After partially treated wastewater leaves the tank, it flows into a distribution box, which separates this flow evenly into a network of drainfield trenches. Drainage holes at the bottom of each line allow the wastewater to drain into gravel trenches for temporary storage. This effluent then slowly seeps into the subsurface soil where it is further treated and purified (secondary treatment). A properly functioning septic system does not pollute the groundwater. Details of the septic system will vary depending on many factors including the size of the lot, the topography, the soil type, proximity to environments such as wetlands or the ocean. We will design you a septic system that works for your property while also being cost effective, efficient and environmentally conscious. We have a septic system design meeting today at our Norton office for a commercial customer located in Seekonk MA. We have recently provided other septic system designs to residential and commercial customers in Clinton, Rochester and Attleboro MA. We are doing a PERC (percolation) test today for a customer in Rochester MA. A perc test, or percolation test, is a soil test that is performed before installing a septic system tank. The perc test is extremely important because it measures the level of liquid absorption of the soil where the proposed septic tank will be located. It determines how quickly the material from the septic system will be absorbed into the soil. We also have a septic system flow test scheduled in Fall River MA. We have recently also provided septic engineering services to other clients in Bolton, Fairhaven and Rehoboth MA. If you would be interested in these services or if you have any questions please do contact our Norton office on 508-622-5759 or visit Down to Earth Construction Services

Down to Earth Construction Services have Title 5 Septic Inspection appointments scheduled today for customers in Plainville, North Attleboro, Wrentham, Bellingham and Blackstone MA. The majority of these are inspections that are being done because the property owner is selling their property and it is required that a Title 5 Septic Inspection has been done on the system within 2 years of title transfer taking place. This usually means that an inspection has to be carried out because it has been more than 2 years since one was last performed. It is important to note however that the septic inspection just determines the system’s current status. As further detailed on the Mass Gov Website:
“The purpose of the inspection is to determine if the system in its current condition can protect public health and the environment. The inspection does not guarantee that the system will continue to function adequately, or that the system will not fail at a later date. This is particularly important if you plan to increase the flow to the system.” For more infomation see the Mass Gov Website.
Therefore if you are buying a property with a septic system that has passed its Title 5 you need to be aware that you will need to continue to maintain your septic and there is no guarantee offered by a septic inspection that the system will continue to function correctly, especially if you have a larger family moving in or larger appliances because this will all result in an increase to the flow to the system. If you are concerned about your on going septic system maintenance you may want to consider our septic service plan. Property owners who are on our Preventative Maintenance Program can let us look after monitor and maintain their septic system so the uncertainty is taken away. If you need to schedule a Title 5 Septic Inspection or if you have questions about septic services please do contact our Norton office on 508-622-5759 or visit Down to Earth Construction Services
Down to Earth Construction Services has an appointment today in Wayland MA today to add risers to a client’s septic tank in addition to a septic system effluent filter. Basic septic system upgrades can simplify maintenance, improve system function, and protect your drainfield for long-term savings. Access risers and effluent filters are two low-cost septic system upgrades for existing or new tanks that we can provide. The riser will help the owner and inspectors easily locate the tank, and they provide access for maintenance and repair. They also avoid the need to repeatedly dig up the lawn for routine inspections or pumping. The effluent filter is an inexpensive plastic filtering device that fits into the outlet end of the septic tank. The screen helps prevent solids from leaving the tank and clogging the drainfield, one of the most common causes of septic system failure. We have provided other septic tank upgrades for customers in Fall River, Rochester and Acushnet MA. If you would be interested in septic system upgrades or if you have any questions about our septic services or septic systems please do contact our Norton office on 508-622-5759 or visit Down to Earth Construction Services
