Septic Services To Take Septic System Concerns Away

Down to Earth Construction Services has septic services scheduled today in Westport, Marion, Mattapoisett, New Bedford and Fall River MA. We go to our clients for services on a quarterly, biannually or annual basis and the regularity of our services are determined by a number of factors. These include the type of system and the usage it gets. For example we would not service a small cottage that is only used through the summer on a quarterly basis but a busy restaurant that is open year round might need that level of attention. Essentially our services are designed to do the septic maintenance for you so you do not need to be concerned about your septic system. You can leave those hassles to us – be honest not many people want to spend a lot of time thinking about their septic system. You can also be sure that we will monitor your entire septic system so we can catch an septic concerns before they become a problem which can be especially important for our commercial clients for whom septic problems can lead to costs in not only repairs but lost business while the problem is dealt with. When we come to a property as long as we can access the system we do not even usually need a property owner to be present for the service. If you would be interested in having a septic service or you have more questions about it please do contact our Norton office on 508-622-5759 or visit http://downtoearthconst.com/septic-services/

A Title 5 Septic Inspection Determines A System’s Current Condition

Down to Earth Construction Services have Title 5 Septic Inspection appointments scheduled today for customers in Plainville, North Attleboro, Wrentham, Bellingham and Blackstone MA. The majority of these are inspections that are being done because the property owner is selling their property and it is required that a Title 5 Septic Inspection has been done on the system within 2 years of title transfer taking place. This usually means that an inspection has to be carried out because it has been more than 2 years since one was last performed. It is important to note however that the septic inspection just determines the system’s current status. As further detailed on the Mass Gov Website:

“The purpose of the inspection is to determine if the system in its current condition can protect public health and the environment. The inspection does not guarantee that the system will continue to function adequately, or that the system will not fail at a later date. This is particularly important if you plan to increase the flow to the system.” For more infomation see the Mass Gov Website.

Therefore if you are buying a property with a septic system that has passed its Title 5 you need to be aware that you will need to continue to maintain your septic and there is no guarantee offered by a septic inspection that the system will continue to function correctly, especially if you have a larger family moving in or larger appliances because this will all result in an increase to the flow to the system. If you are concerned about your on going septic system maintenance you may want to consider our septic service plan. Property owners who are on our Preventative Maintenance Program can let us look after monitor and maintain their septic system so the uncertainty is taken away. If you need to schedule a Title 5 Septic Inspection or if you have questions about septic services please do contact our Norton office on 508-622-5759 or visit Down to Earth Construction Services

Septic Maintenance and Septic Repairs Carried Out Today

Down to Earth Construction Services regularly carry out septic repairs and septic maintenance for customers on all types and parts of septic systems. Today we have pressure distribution maintenance, repairing laterals under the pavement and installing a filter for a customer in Rochester, MA. Septic tanks and drain fields have been used for many years but not all soil and site conditions work well for gravity septic systems. The pressure distribution system is one alternative that provides dosing and resting cycle, a uniform distribution of wastewater and shallow placement of the drainfield. Installing a filter from your wastewater into the septic tank will help to keep solids from clogging the pump and drainfield pipes. We also have other septic repairs and some septic maintenance scheduled today in Seekonk, Swansea, Freetown and Norton MA. If you require a septic repair or have questions about your septic system please do contact our office on 508-622-5759 or visit www.downtoearthconst.com

Septic Repairs in Acushnet MA today

Down to Earth Construction Services regularly carry out septic repairs and septic maintenance for customers on all types and parts of septic systems. Today we are replacing a pump panel, float and pump for a customer in Acushnet MA. Some septic systems include a pump and float. A control float in your septic system is set so that a specific volume of effluent is sent to your drain field. This specific amount is referred to as a dose. When the effluent in the tank rises to the level of the “on” float the pump is activated and pumps the level of the effluent down until it reaches the “off” float setting. Of course if these components are not operating correctly or totally fail you will then require a repair or replacement. We also have other septic repairs and some septic maintenance scheduled today in Seekonk, Swansea, Freetown and Norton MA. If you require a septic repair or have questions about your septic system please do contact our Norton office on 508-622-5759 or visit www.downtoearthconst.com where we would be happy to help you.

Septic Repairs Provided Today Including A D-Box Replacement in North Attleboro

All Clear Septic, septic system pump chamberDown to Earth Construction Services is replacing a D-Box for a customer today in North Attleboro, MA. A septic distribution box  (D-Box) is a container used to receive septic system effluent from a septic tank and to re-distribute the effluent into a network of attached drainfield or soakaway bed absorption trenches and pipes. The D-box works by gravity, flowing effluent into the drainfield (or leach field) piping network. It must be installed correctly to ensure that it  distributes evenly. However to keep your system working correctly you must also maintain it and the best way to do this is to have your system regularly pumped and to use your septic system correctly. The following are some steps that you can take to ensure that you maintain your septic system:

  • Minimize the use of the garbage disposal

  • Do not put grease down your drains

  • Spread loads of laundry out over time rather than doing multiple loads in a short period of time, and use liquid detergents rather than powdered detergents

  • Avoid excessively long showers

  • Avoid leaving tap water running when shaving, brushing teeth or doing other personal or household tasks

  • Do not flush medications, harmful chemicals, excessive amounts of bleach, harsh drain cleaners or degreasers

  • Have the septic tank pumped at least every three years

  • Do not add any septic systems cleaners, enzymes or additives

  • Remove water conditioning backwash discharges from the septic system

  • Do not plant trees and shrubs over leach fields

  • Do not flush personal products, paper towels, wipes or diapers

  • Do not clean or rinse paint brushes in the sinks

  • Equip all hot tubs, spas, whirlpool baths, etcetera with drain limiting valves that will only allow five gallons per minute to drain from fixture

  • Do not drive vehicles over leach fields

We also have septic repairs for customers today in Berlin, Bolton, Clinton and Southborough MA. Many of these repairs could have been avoided if the property owners had followed some of the above advice. If you need a septic repair or if you have any questions about septic systems please do contact Norton our office on 508-622-5759 or visit www.downtoearthconst.com
