Septic Repair in Norton MA

All Clear SepticDown to Earth Construction Services know more than anyone would ever usually wish to know about septic systems and the waste that goes into them. Today we are at a customer location in Norton MA providing a septic repair because the waste that they have introduced to their septic system has actually harmed it. Most people would not know that a septic system is more than just a tank for waste. They are a balanced system that uses bacteria to reduce sludge and sulfite buildup. Our client had been using a strong household cleaners that has upset this balance and lead to septic drain field problems. It is always a good idea to make sure that if you wish to use strong cleaners that they are labeled ‘septic safe’. There are are also homemade cleaners that can be very effective and not damage your septic system. Baking soda mixed with other all natural ingredients can be used as an environmentally safe and natural cleaner for your toilet, sinks, tub, and drains. Using baking soda instead of harsh chemical cleaners such as bleach will keep all that important bacteria from being killed off. The good bacteria in your septic system is necessary because it breaks down all the waste that comes through the pipes. Without the good bacteria you will end up with clogs, back-ups and odors that wear away at your septic tank and eventually cause a septic system emergency.

Using baking soda is very easy. You can mix about a 1/4 cup of baking soda with 1/2 cup of vinegar and 2 tablespoons lemon to make your own natural cleaning agent. The baking soda will fizz up to help get the dirt and grime in your tub and drains.

Drain Field Septic Repair Necessary In Rochester Due To Roots

Down to Earth Construction Services have expertise in many areas so that we can bring our customers the best possible septic services. For example we need landscaping and plant knowledge because septic systems, very often, are located in a customers yard with the landscaping and planting one would expect. However it is this landscaping that can cause problems. For example trees often have root systems that go far beyond what a homeowner expected when they first planted a tree seedling. Roots can infiltrate a septic drain field and really cause a lot of trouble. Roots even tend to grow toward drain fields because it is their job to find water for the tree. Today we are providing a drain field septic repair for a customer in Rochester MA whose tree roots have caused damage to the piping that is necessary for their leach field to work correctly. It is really advisable to only have grass growing on your leach field and not plant large bushes or trees on it to prevent these sorts or septic repairs being necessary. If you require a septic repair or if you have any questions about septic systems please do contact our Norton office on 508-622-5759 or visit Down to Earth Construction Services

Leach Field Repair in Norton MA

Down to Earth Construction Services is experienced diagnosing and repairing septic systems and leach fields/ drainfields. We have been called in for a leach field repair in Norton MA which has been caused by irregular pumping of the septic system. A septic tank should be pumped every 3 – 5 years depending on various factors including water usage and tank size. If the tank fills up with an excess of solids, the wastewater will not have enough time to settle in the tank. These excess solids will then pass on to the leach field, where they will clog the drain lines and soil. The property owner called us concerned because they had liquid puddling on their leach field and sewage smells coming from it. We were able to educate the customer to help ensure that their problem will not reoccur and begin their leach field repair. We also have other septic repairs scheduled today in Attleboro, Rehoboth, Swansea, Dighton and Raynham MA. If you are concerned that you many need a septic system repair, leach field or drainfield repair, septic pump repair or d-box repair please do contact our office to discuss your concerns and to make an appointment if necessary on 508-622-5759 or visit www.downtoearthconst.com

Septic Repair On A Leach Field In Acushnet MA

Down to Earth Construction Services have a septic repair appointment today in Acushnet MA. Unfortunately when the property owner noticed a wet patch in their yard they added more soil to the patch in the hope that this would fix the problem. This fix only temporarily covered up their septic problem and the wet patch returned and they contacted us when they also noticed a pronounced sewage odor in the area. We were able to determine that a new gutter in addition to a newly paved driveway was resulting in additional water being diverted to the soil absorption field area which put an extra load on the system. When their soil was saturated with clean water, even seasonally, it could not accept any more wastewater. The untreated wastewater was therefore rising to the surface. We were able to improve surface and subsurface drainage by diverting all surface and groundwater away from the soil absorption field. The soil could absorb all the wastewater from the property. We have other septic repair appointments today in Rochester, Freetown, Taunton, Norton, Dighton and Lakeville MA. If you suspect you require a septic repair or if you have any questions about your septic system please do contact our Norton office on 508-622-5759 or visit http://downtoearthconst.com/septic-services/

Septic Repair To Replace Septic Tank Baffles In Middleboro MA

Down to Earth Construction Services have been contacted by a a property owner in Middleboro MA who needs a septic repair which entails having their septic tank baffles replaced. Broken septic tank baffles result from sulfuric acid eating away at concrete baffles or rust eating away at steel baffles. A septic tank has an inlet and outlet baffle. Usually these baffles are made from concrete and are part of the tank construction. The inlet baffle slows the flow of liquid entering the tank and decreases the turbulence allowing the solids to settle in the bottom of the tank. The outlet baffle helps to retain the solids and prevent them from leaving the tank and travelling to your drain field. A tank without an outlet baffle can compromise the longevity of your septic system and cause premature failure. We are experienced working with all parts and types of septic system so can quickly and with minimum disruption replace our client’s damaged baffles. We also have other septic repair appointments scheduled today in Carver, Bridgewater, Taunton, Raynham and Norton MA. If you require a septic repair or have questions about your septic system please do contact our Norton office on 508-622-5759 or visit Down to Earth Construction Services

Down to Earth Construction Services Can Provide Septic Repairs Including Leach Field Repairs

Down to Earth Construction Services have been contacted by a client in Sharon MA who suspects that they have a leach field problem so they require a septic repair. They have noticed a sewage smell in their yard around the leach field area and there is a consistent wet, sogginess on the field. Other signs that you may have a problem can include lush vegetation over the leach field, frequent pumping of the tank being required, and/or slow drains.

Leach fields fail for two primary reasons. The main reason is referred to as biological clogging. This is the development of a biomat beneath the leachfield that eventually prevents the liquid or effluent from entering the underlying soil. This biomat is a combination of fine organic solids that have been carried out of the septic tank and the remnants of anaerobic bacteria. These bacteria originate in the human intestinal tract and enter the septic system with the waste products. 95% of all leach field failures are biological. The second primary reason is referred to as a mechanical failure. This could be a structural collapse of the leach field piping or chambers, root intrusion, or fine non-organic materials that are washed down to the bottom of the leach field and seal the soil.
