Septic Repair On A Leach Field In Acushnet MA

Down to Earth Construction Services have a septic repair appointment today in Acushnet MA. Unfortunately when the property owner noticed a wet patch in their yard they added more soil to the patch in the hope that this would fix the problem. This fix only temporarily covered up their septic problem and the wet patch returned and they contacted us when they also noticed a pronounced sewage odor in the area. We were able to determine that a new gutter in addition to a newly paved driveway was resulting in additional water being diverted to the soil absorption field area which put an extra load on the system. When their soil was saturated with clean water, even seasonally, it could not accept any more wastewater. The untreated wastewater was therefore rising to the surface. We were able to improve surface and subsurface drainage by diverting all surface and groundwater away from the soil absorption field. The soil could absorb all the wastewater from the property. We have other septic repair appointments today in Rochester, Freetown, Taunton, Norton, Dighton and Lakeville MA. If you suspect you require a septic repair or if you have any questions about your septic system please do contact our Norton office on 508-622-5759 or visit http://downtoearthconst.com/septic-services/

Septic System Installation in Attleboro MA

Down to Earth Construction Services are beginning a septic system installation today in Attleboro MA. Attleboro is a City of over 43,000 residents so it can be surprising that there are a large number of homes that are still serviced by a septic system and are not on town sewer. However as more homes are built, even in cities, it is becoming increasingly normal that residential homes will have their own septic system and not be connected to a town sewer. It is no longer only properties that are in remote locations that are serviced by septic systems. A septic system should not be something that property owners should be concerned by however and by following some simple guidelines and ensuring that you carry out septic pumping as necessary your septic system should not be any more problematic than being on town sewer. We have recently installed other septic systems for customers in Sharon, Carver and Stoughton MA. If you require a septic system installation or if you have any questions about septic systems please do contact our Norton office on 508-622-5759 or visit http://downtoearthconst.com/septic-services/

Septic Engineering Appointments Including A PERC Test in North Attleboro

Down to Earth Construction Services has qualified engineers working for us who can assist with your septic engineering needs. Today we have septic engineering appointments which include soil evaluations, septic designs, land use planning, and construction layouts for large commercial developments and private homes in North Attleboro, Wrentham, Plainville, Bellingham and Franklin MA. The soil evaluation or PERC test (percolation) that we have scheduled in North Attleboro is a soil test that is performed before installing a new septic system. The perc test is extremely important because it measures the level of liquid absorption of the soil where the proposed septic system will be located. This is necessary because after partially treated wastewater leaves the septic tank, it flows into a distribution box, which separates this flow evenly into a network of drainfield trenches. Drainage holes at the bottom of each line allow the wastewater to drain into gravel trenches for temporary storage. This effluent then slowly seeps into the subsurface soil where it is further treated and purified (secondary treatment). The PERC test provides the information to ensure that this process happens correctly for a newly installed septic system. If you are interested in our septic engineering services and how they can improve or repair your property please do contact our Norton office at 508-622-5759 or visit Down to Earth Construction Services

Title 5 Septic Inspection in Sharon For First Time Home Seller

Down to Earth Construction Services are providing a Title 5 Septic Inspection today to a customer in Sharon MA. This homeowner is a first time seller and needs to arrange for a septic inspection to be done on their septic system before Title transfer can take place. They have sensibly chosen to have their inspection done as soon as they decided that they wanted to sell their home. This means that the inspection will be completed without causing any delay to a future sale. Also if it does happen to highlight any problems they can have them fixed and not have to worry about this causing delays and a potential loss of sale. Once they have had their inspection carried out and it passes that is just one more positive for the home that their realtor can use to sell it for a good price. They do not need to be concerned about the inspection becoming invalid because it will be vaild for 2 years as stated on the Mass Gov Website. We also have other Title 5 Septic Inspection appointments scheduled today in Franklin, Foxboro, Bellingham, Blackstone and Stoughton MA. If you require a septic inspection or if you have any questions about inspections or septic systems please do contact our Norton office on 508-622-5759 or visit Down to Earth Construction Services

Septic Repairs Can Often Be Avoided By Using Your System Correctly

Down to Earth Construction Services know that septic systems have to be used correctly for them to continue to work efficiently and function as they should. A large part of this is is just knowing what is being introduced to your septic system and making sure that anything that goes into it is appropriate and wont adversely affect your system. All wastewater makes its way to your septic system and everything that goes into your sink, toilet, washing machine and shower/bath will also get introduced into your septic system. Keep the following items out of your septic system to prevent problems:

  • paper towels

  • kitty litter

  • plastics

  • cooking oils or grease

  • disposable diapers

  • feminine hygiene products

  • any/all latex products

  • hazardous chemicals, pesticides and latex-based paints

  • water purification back flush

It is important to note, however, that each system is unique. Check with your septic system installer or manufacturer for a complete list of items that should not make their way into your system for maximum efficiency. There are also many other things that should stay out of your system and there is no way that we can list all of the items. We have found toys, dead fish, clothing and jewellery in septic systems and all of these items were causing a problem that led to us investigating the cause. Simply put if you are not sure do not put it in your wastewater. We have septic repairs scheduled today in Carver, Middleboro, Marshfield, Marion and Rochester MA. One of these repairs is necessary because the homeowner was unaware of the large volume of sand that was being introduced to their septic system via the washing machine and shower by their teenage children. It is wise to make sure that your entire family and visitors know that you have a septic system and there are certain, easily followed guidelines to follow to make sure you do not require a septic repair from our talented technicians. If however you do suspect that you require a septic repair or if you have any questions about septic systems please do contact our Norton office on 508-622-5759 or visit Down to Earth Construction Services

A Failing Leach Field Can Be Restored By the White Knight™ Microbial Inoculator/Generator

Down to Earth Construction Services were approached by a property owner in Norton, MA who needed a solution for their failing leach field. We will restore the function of their leach field or drain field with the White Knight system.

In nature, oxygen-using (aerobic) bacteria in the soil consume non-living organic material. This is the process nature uses to “recycle” wastes. We install the White Knight™ Microbial Inoculator/Generator in the septic tank to create an oxygen rich environment and cultivate an extensive colony of these same soil bacteria.

The result is nearly complete consumption of the organic materials entering the septic tank. At the same time, the bacteria are carried into the leach field where they consume the organic material that has accumulated in the underlying soil. The leach field regains and/or maintains its capacity to deliver effluent to the soil for purification.

The White Knight™ advantage includes:

  • An installation costs thousands of dollars less than that of a replacement leach field
  • Minimal disruption to existing landscape
  • Protection of the environment
  • Significantly longer tank pumping interval
  • Conservation of natural resources
  • 100% component and limited lifetime performance warranty

We have successfully used this system throughout the region to restore leach fields from Wayland to Upton to Fairhaven and Marshfield MA.

The White Knight™ Microbial Inoculator/Generator can be used to:

  • Improve the function of a marginally operating drain field
  • Restore the function of a totally failing leach field
  • Improve the quality of effluent returning to the soil and ground water
  • Reduce the amount of nitrate moving into the environment
  • Reduce the size of a leach field required for new building construction
  • Expand the size of existing structures without expanding the leach field

If you want to have a White Knight Septic Installation or have questions please do contact our Norton, MA office on 508-622-5759 or visit Down to Earth Construction Services

Septic Services Can Take The Worry From Septic System Maintenance

Down to Earth Construction Services know that many people who own a vehicle will schedule a service for their car when the service indicators come on or carry out their car maintenance themselves. As car owners we accept that maintaining our car is going to cost money but we use our vehicles daily so they need to be well maintained. The same is true for your septic system. There aren’t many properties that do not see their septic systems used daily. However a septic system is not the same as your car and many property owners turn to professionals, like Down to Earth Construction Services, to take care of their septic services. We have commercial and residential customers who rely upon us to take care of their septic systems so they do not need to worry about them. This is especially true for commercial customers who lose revenue when their septic system is not working. We will schedule septic services for our customers on a quarterly, biannual or annual basis depending on their septic system and the usage it gets. For example a busy restaurant that is open year round will need a service more frequently than a cafe that is only open in the summer ‘season’. Today we have septic services scheduled in Marion, Mattapoisett, Rochester, Acushnet, Freetown and Fairhaven MA. If you would be interested in scheduling a septic service or if you have any questions about septic systems or our septic services please do contact our Norton office on 508-622-5759 or visit Down to Earth Construction Services
