Septic System Improvements Today Including an Effluent Filter Installation

Down to Earth Construction Services are assisting a customer in Wayland MA today with septic system improvements. We are installing an effluent filter in the outlet tee of their septic tank which will extend the life of their system. Due to the high cost associated with replacing a septic system, this seemingly small upgrade to their septic system will pay off in a big way. Another septic system improvement that we can provide is the installation of a riser to your septic system. When your septic system is more accessible, it is also much safer and more attractive. Once installed our strong, durable risers and system covers provide property owners with easy access to their septic system for future repairs, upgrades or cleaning services, eliminating the need to dig and excavate the system each time it needs to be pumped. We  have septic system improvements, repairs and adjustments scheduled for customers today in Wrentham, Bellingham, Franklin and Blackstone MA. Some Septic System Advice For The Holiday Party Season

Down to Earth Construction Services wish you Happy Christmas Eve! We know that it is almost Christmas any many people have Christmas parties planned with their friends and family and people visiting from out of town. Of course nobody wants to be concerned about their septic systems over the holidays but it’s a good idea to be conscious of your water usage, especially when you have large parties or people staying at your home for an extended period of time. For example when you have a septic system and are not on town sewer it is recommended to spread laundry loads out over a week rather than do multiple loads on one day which can overload your system. In the same vein try to spread out bath and showers, especially if you have a lot of visitors. We know one family who have large parties but only have a small home rent an outdoor toilet for their events to avoid overloading their home’s septic system. If your septic system is designed and sized for a small family but the number of people using it multiplies over the holidays just try to be aware of your water usage to prevent problems occurring. Do You Know Why A D-Box Is An Essential Part Of Your Septic System?

Down to Earth Construction Services know that most people would not know what all the parts of a septic system are let alone what they do, even if they have a septic system servicing their own property. And that is perfectly normal, especially if you have a company such as Down to Earth Construction Services to rely upon to give you septic support when you need it. Today we have a D-Box replacement scheduled for a customer in East Bridgewater MA. This is an essential septic repair because your D-Box is a very important part of your septic system. The D-Box is not there to support an A, B and C Box as we have been asked before. D-Box stands for ‘Distribution Box’ and does exactly what you might expect. The distribution box is a component of the leach field system. The job of the distribution box is to evenly distribute the wastewater into the leach field (also known as the drain field). How does the septic distribution box work? Gravity plays a major role in helping the distribution box do its job or if that is not possible a septic pump is used. The water flows downhill where the distribution box is placed. This allows the water to flow into the box from the septic tank and then onto the leach field. Once the wastewater flows out of the septic tank it will move into the septic distribution box and out to the leach field lines. The size and shape of the box depends on the type of septic tank you have. A distribution box is most commonly made out of concrete or plastic and has several openings for the leach field lines where the wastewater can flow out. The distribution box is a major part of the septic system and it being able to function properly is very important. If the distribution box isn’t working correctly you will soon be dealing with leach field failure. Distribution boxes are most often worn down by time due to weather, like flooding and freezing, and improper care of the septic system. We will be able to provide a D-box replacement for our client before it caused any lasting damage to their leach field. We also have other septic repairs scheduled today in Mansfield, Stoughton, Canton, Sharon and Foxboro MA. If you require a D-Box replacement or septic repair or if you have any questions about your septic system please do contact our Norton office on 508-622-5759 or visit http://downtoearthconst.com/septic-services/

Down To Earth Construction Services Provide Septic Engineering Services

Down to Earth Construction Services offer so much more than septic ‘construction’. While we certainly use our experience in this area to provide excavation, septic installation and extensive repairs to septic systems we also have the skills and knowledge for septic engineering services such as providing septic designs, soil evaluations, construction layouts and perc tests. Today we have a perc test, or percolation test, for a customer in Norton MA. A perc test evaluates the rate at which water drains through soil. This is extremely important to know before you install a septic system because you need to know the level of liquid absorption into the soil in order to design the system which includes the leach field or drain field, where wastewater percolates back into the soil after the solids have settled into the septic tank. The typical size of a drain field is determined by the expected volume of waste water to be discharged from the septic system (which is usually estimated based on the size of the proposed building) and of course the speed at which the liquid can drain which is determined by the perc test is essential information. The perc test is conducted by drilling or digging a hole in the ground, pouring water into the hole and then observing the rate at which the water is absorbed into the soil. We have provided other septic engineering services to customers throughout the region including recently in Marshfield, West Bridgewater and Berlin MA. If you require septic engineering services or if you have any questions regarding for septic system please do contact our Norton Office on 508-622-5759 or visit Down to Earth Construction Services
