Safety Meeting to Ensure Our Septic Technicians and Customers are Safe

Down to Earth Construction Services had its monthly safety meeting today. The safety of our employees and customers is of the utmost importance to us so we ensure that we stay ahead of safety training, safety procedures and that our equipment is safe and our employees know how to use it correctly. Even though it is raining today part of our safety commitment is ensuring that our staff are safe whatever the weather so today our meeting covered heat stress and sun exposure training to ensure that our staff know how to work safely when the sun does show itself. We also focused on trailer safety for open, closed and equipment trailers including correct loading, tie down and visual inspections. This is very important because especially when we are doing excavation with large equipment or a septic installation with the necessary machines and equipment we need to be certain that it is moved safety to the site and also used correctly and safely. We have recently completed septic system installations in Bridgewater, Wayland, Clinton and Southborough. If you need septic services or have any questions about septic systems or the services we provide please do contact our Norton Office on 508-622-5759 or visit http://www.downtoearthconst.com

Septic Engineering Services Provided In Addition To Septic Construction Services

Down to Earth Construction Services offer so much more than septic ‘construction’. While we certainly use our experience in this area to provide excavation, septic installation and extensive repairs to septic systems we also have the skills and knowledge for septic engineering tasks such as providing septic designs, soil evaluations, construction layouts and perc tests. Today we have a perc test, or percolation test, for a customer in Attleboro MA. A perc test evaluates the rate at which water drains through soil. This is extremely important to know before you install a septic system because you need to know the level of liquid absorption into the soil in order to design the system which includes the leach field or drain field, where wastewater percolates back into the soil after the solids have settled into the septic tank. The typical size of a drain field is determined by the expected volume of waste water to be discharged from the septic system (which is usually estimated based on the size of the proposed building) and of course the speed at which the liquid can drain which is determined by the perc test is essential information. The perc test is conducted by drilling or digging a hole in the ground, pouring water into the hole and then observing the rate at which the water is absorbed into the soil. We have provided other septic engineering services to customers throughout the region including recently in Southborough, West Bridgewater and Berlin MA. If you require septic engineering services or if you have any questions regarding for septic system please do contact our Norton Office on 508-622-5759 or visit www.downtoearthconst.com
