Septic Inspections and A Voluntary Assessment In Norton MA

Down to Earth Construction Services have septic inspections scheduled today in Plainville, Attleboro, Bellingham, Mansfield and Wrentham MA. The majority of our inspections are done on behalf of a client who are selling their property and are required to have an inspection done on their septic system. However we also provide septic assessments when a property is not being sold. Your Voluntary Assessment will include all of the same steps as a septic inspection however the 17-page document will NOT be sent to your local approving authority – it is for your information only. A Voluntary Assessment is a great way to find out more about your own septic system. Down to Earth Construction Services highly recommends this to our clients as a means of properly maintaining, upgrading and repairing your system to prolong its life. Today we are carrying out a Voluntary Septic Assessment for a customer in Norton MA who wants to know the condition of a septic system of a family home that had been vacant and has only recently been occupied. Ask us about additional services we can provide to ensure the proper working of your septic system and if you wish to schedule an inspection or voluntary septic assessment or if you have any questions please do contact our Norton Office on 508-622-5759 or visit http://downtoearthconst.com/septic-services/

A Title 5 Septic Inspection Determines A System’s Current Condition

Down to Earth Construction Services have Title 5 Septic Inspection appointments scheduled today for customers in Plainville, North Attleboro, Wrentham, Bellingham and Blackstone MA. The majority of these are inspections that are being done because the property owner is selling their property and it is required that a Title 5 Septic Inspection has been done on the system within 2 years of title transfer taking place. This usually means that an inspection has to be carried out because it has been more than 2 years since one was last performed. It is important to note however that the septic inspection just determines the system’s current status. As further detailed on the Mass Gov Website:

“The purpose of the inspection is to determine if the system in its current condition can protect public health and the environment. The inspection does not guarantee that the system will continue to function adequately, or that the system will not fail at a later date. This is particularly important if you plan to increase the flow to the system.” For more infomation see the Mass Gov Website.

Therefore if you are buying a property with a septic system that has passed its Title 5 you need to be aware that you will need to continue to maintain your septic and there is no guarantee offered by a septic inspection that the system will continue to function correctly, especially if you have a larger family moving in or larger appliances because this will all result in an increase to the flow to the system. If you are concerned about your on going septic system maintenance you may want to consider our septic service plan. Property owners who are on our Preventative Maintenance Program can let us look after monitor and maintain their septic system so the uncertainty is taken away. If you need to schedule a Title 5 Septic Inspection or if you have questions about septic services please do contact our Norton office on 508-622-5759 or visit Down to Earth Construction Services

Septic Engineering Appointments Including A PERC Test in North Attleboro

Down to Earth Construction Services has qualified engineers working for us who can assist with your septic engineering needs. Today we have septic engineering appointments which include soil evaluations, septic designs, land use planning, and construction layouts for large commercial developments and private homes in North Attleboro, Wrentham, Plainville, Bellingham and Franklin MA. The soil evaluation or PERC test (percolation) that we have scheduled in North Attleboro is a soil test that is performed before installing a new septic system. The perc test is extremely important because it measures the level of liquid absorption of the soil where the proposed septic system will be located. This is necessary because after partially treated wastewater leaves the septic tank, it flows into a distribution box, which separates this flow evenly into a network of drainfield trenches. Drainage holes at the bottom of each line allow the wastewater to drain into gravel trenches for temporary storage. This effluent then slowly seeps into the subsurface soil where it is further treated and purified (secondary treatment). The PERC test provides the information to ensure that this process happens correctly for a newly installed septic system. If you are interested in our septic engineering services and how they can improve or repair your property please do contact our Norton office at 508-622-5759 or visit Down to Earth Construction Services

Don’t Delay Septic Repairs Because A Small Problem Could Become a Much Larger Septic Issue

Down to Earth Construction Services know that spending money on your septic system, especially when Thanksgiving and Christmas are coming up quicker than you’d think does not always seem to be a priority. Home maintenance, like septic repairs, is not a fun way to spend our hard earned money especially when it is not seen or enjoyed. However if you have a concern about your septic system it is wise to have it addressed immediately and not leave it until the holidays have passed and you want to be ‘bothered’ by it. Indicators that you may have a septic problem include:

  • Pipe Gurgling Sounds

  • Toilet Flushing Issues

  • Slow Drains

  • Water Backup

  • Bad Odors

  • Greener Grass on your leach field

  • Patches of Standing Water

If you have noticed one or more of these signs at your property please do consider calling to discuss your concerns with our experienced technicians. If a septic problem is left it is very unlikely to ‘fix itself’ and could quite possibly become a much larger and more expensive issue to repair. Today we have septic repairs scheduled in North Attleboro, Foxboro, Plainville, Wrentham, Norton and Attleboro MA. If you wish to schedule a septic repair or if you have septic questions or concerns please do contact us at our office on 508-622-5759 or visit Down to Earth Construction Services
