The Smell Of Sewage Could Indicate You Have A Septic Problem

Down to Earth Construction Services know that septic maintenance chores can not always be left until the ‘nicer’ weather arrives. Septic systems always need to be maintained and occasionally you may also have a septic problem come up and putting that off until the weather is better, or you want to deal with it, will often mean that it could become a bigger issue which is never a good thing. A small septic problem of septic sewage smells coming from your plumbing if addressed quickly can sometimes be easily, quickly and inexpensively fixed. However if you ignore signs of a septic concern your small issue could become a large septic failure which could be an expensive and disruptive repair. Today we are at a customer site in Sharon MA providing a simple septic repair that could have become a much bigger and more expensive septic problem to fix if the home owners had ignored the sewage smells coming from their system much longer.  We also have septic repairs scheduled for other customers in Norton, Mansfield, Franklin and Canton MA. If you have questions about your septic system or need to schedule a septic repair please do contact our Norton office on 508-622-5759 or visit Down to Earth Construction Services

Heavy Use Of Garbage Disposals Can Result In A Septic Breakdown

Down to Earth Construction Services are called out to customer properties on a regular basis to provide a septic repair when the septic breakdown could have been avoided if the property owner had better information on how to use their septic system. Today we have a septic repair appointment in Attleboro MA which could have been avoided if the homeowner had been using their garbage disposal less frequently. One of the biggest problems for septic systems is a garbage disposal. Homeowners that have a septic system should avoid using their garbage disposal to prevent the introduction of unwanted solids into the system which can result in a septic breakdown. Even if your system is designed to accommodate a garbage disposal, it is important to use it moderately. Composting is an alternate solution for homeowners that have a large volume of vegetable waste. This is the reason that many homes with septic systems do not have a garbage disposal because it is difficult to monitor what is going into it and regulate the use. We have other septic repair appointments today in Norton, Rehoboth, Seekonk, Plainville and North Attleboro. If you require a septic repair or have any questions about your septic system please do contact our Norton office on 508-622-5759 or visit Down to Earth Construction Services

Some Septic System Advice For The Holiday Party Season

Down to Earth Construction Services wish you Happy Christmas Eve! We know that it is almost Christmas any many people have Christmas parties planned with their friends and family and people visiting from out of town. Of course nobody wants to be concerned about their septic systems over the holidays but it’s a good idea to be conscious of your water usage, especially when you have large parties or people staying at your home for an extended period of time. For example when you have a septic system and are not on town sewer it is recommended to spread laundry loads out over a week rather than do multiple loads on one day which can overload your system. In the same vein try to spread out bath and showers, especially if you have a lot of visitors. We know one family who have large parties but only have a small home rent an outdoor toilet for their events to avoid overloading their home’s septic system. If your septic system is designed and sized for a small family but the number of people using it multiplies over the holidays just try to be aware of your water usage to prevent problems occurring. If you have any questions about your septic system or if you have any concerns please do check out our website Down to Earth Construction Services

Down to Earth Construction Services hopes that everyone who is taking part in the Black Friday sales is coming home with a few bargains and no buyers remorse. Sometimes a ‘bargain’ on the shelf turns out to be a mistake if it is either not as cheap as it originally seemed or not the quality product that it first seemed on closer inspection. This can also be true for septic services and why it is always sensible to research the septic company that you choose to use. Down to Earth Construction Services has been working in the septic industry for over a decade in this region and has an excellent reputation for providing quality septic services. We take pride in the work that we do and ensure that all of our technicians are trained with up to date methods and have state of the art equipment. Even with a seemingly simple task as septic pumping it is always a good idea to check the company that you choose to use because keeping your septic system clean and healthy is the best way to avoid costly repairs to your septic system, be it a septic tank, cesspool or some other style system. Down to Earth Construction Services helps to ensure your system remains as healthy as possible through periodic pumping and system checks. Our professionally trained staff are there to identify potential issues before they become big problems.  To prevent problems, we ensure the solids in your system are cleared out and remain at a level consistent with a healthy system. We also check and clear filters, if one is present, to be sure it doesn’t let any solids into the soil absorption system. The health of the system can also be improved through addition of septic system bacteria products to your system by our professional staff. Down to Earth Construction Services are always here to help homeowners if they have a septic problem. However you need to be aware that you have a septic issue before you know that you need someone to come and fix it.

Some signs of a septic problem are:

  • Muddy soil or pools of wastewater around your septic tank or soil absorption system.

  • Very green or lush grass a vegetation on your leach field or near your septic tank.

  • Sewage smells around your system or inside your house.

  • Backups when you do laundry, take showers, or flush the toilet.

If you see these signs it is never a good idea to wait to have them looked at. A small septic concern with an easy and inexpensive repair can become a much larger, more expensive and more disruptive problem if left unaddressed. Septic Repair On A Leach Field In Acushnet MA

Down to Earth Construction Services have a septic repair appointment today in Acushnet MA. Unfortunately when the property owner noticed a wet patch in their yard they added more soil to the patch in the hope that this would fix the problem. This fix only temporarily covered up their septic problem and the wet patch returned and they contacted us when they also noticed a pronounced sewage odor in the area. We were able to determine that a new gutter in addition to a newly paved driveway was resulting in additional water being diverted to the soil absorption field area which put an extra load on the system. When their soil was saturated with clean water, even seasonally, it could not accept any more wastewater. The untreated wastewater was therefore rising to the surface. We were able to improve surface and subsurface drainage by diverting all surface and groundwater away from the soil absorption field. The soil could absorb all the wastewater from the property. We have other septic repair appointments today in Rochester, Freetown, Taunton, Norton, Dighton and Lakeville MA. If you suspect you require a septic repair or if you have any questions about your septic system please do contact our Norton office on 508-622-5759 or visit https://downtoearthconst.com/septic-services/

Don’t Delay Septic Repairs Because A Small Problem Could Become a Much Larger Septic Issue

Down to Earth Construction Services know that spending money on your septic system, especially when Thanksgiving and Christmas are coming up quicker than you’d think does not always seem to be a priority. Home maintenance, like septic repairs, is not a fun way to spend our hard earned money especially when it is not seen or enjoyed. However if you have a concern about your septic system it is wise to have it addressed immediately and not leave it until the holidays have passed and you want to be ‘bothered’ by it. Indicators that you may have a septic problem include:

  • Pipe Gurgling Sounds

  • Toilet Flushing Issues

  • Slow Drains

  • Water Backup

  • Bad Odors

  • Greener Grass on your leach field

  • Patches of Standing Water

If you have noticed one or more of these signs at your property please do consider calling to discuss your concerns with our experienced technicians. If a septic problem is left it is very unlikely to ‘fix itself’ and could quite possibly become a much larger and more expensive issue to repair. Today we have septic repairs scheduled in North Attleboro, Foxboro, Plainville, Wrentham, Norton and Attleboro MA. If you wish to schedule a septic repair or if you have septic questions or concerns please do contact us at our office on 508-622-5759 or visit Down to Earth Construction Services

Septic Tank Installation in Rochester MA

Down to Earth Construction Services are always willing to provide information to property owners who have septic systems. One piece of advice is always to not build over your septic system because it can impair your system and can be an issue if you should ever have a septic problem. This is certainly true for our customer today who has a home in Rochester MA. We are having to move their deck to install a new septic tank for them. Unfortunately when they installed their back deck their contractor did not consider the septic tank underneath which has made a simple septic tank installation much more expensive and it will take longer because their deck needs to be removed to do the installation. Fortunately for our customer Down to Earth Construction Services have the tools and experience to do the removal, excavation and installation. We have recently installed other septic systems including new septic tanks for customers in Westport, Attleboro and Norton MA. If you require a new septic system, septic tank or any other septic work we are more than capable of assisting you and if you have any septic system questions or wish to schedule an appointment please do contact our Norton office on 508-622-5759 or visit https://www.downtoearthconst.com
